Lose person to person contact
We are gradually loosing the art of person to person communication. With the onslaught of internet and cell phone availability we are taking that personal touch out of our daily lives. If this keeps up we may loose that art of compasion and understanding towards those not related to us. In this day and age we really can not afford to lose the defining something that makes us human. Without our compasion and empathetic abilities we become no better than the animals that run on instinct alone.

Too much time and money!
People across the globe struggle everyday trying to feed and care for their families. Here and other places across the world people are wasteing time and money playing at another life on top of the one God gave them. These people are spending money that could be used to help feed those individuals who are unable to afford even the most basic item of hygiene. When is enough, enough? Children starve everyday but people will spend hundreds and thousands of dollars playing a virtual reality game that just mimmics life. Are we just a bunch of unfeeling pleasure seeking fools that would rather play than lend a hand to help others in need? At some point we need to take a look in the mirror and ask ourselves: "What Would Jesus Do?"

The Good, the Bad, and the Internet
There on the television, in your magazine and newspaper, and everywhere you look on the internet. They are the advertisments that try to entice you to spend your hard earned cash on things you do and don't need. What can you do with a 6 months supply of weed begone if you don't have a lawn? See these are the questions you must ask yourself before making purchases. If you don't need it to survive then why waste money on it. Why would you need four of the same ring. You know the ones they sell on QVC that look really nice on the screen but when you get them home they turn a funky color after onlu wearing them once. Even though the ad says you can't live without something does not mean it's true. If you know someone who impulse shops please get them some help. It's just like gambling and alcohol. It's an addiction that can be kicked with some intervention and professional help.

Linking hole!
When searching the web people fine sites that lead them to other sites and then bog them down with entirely too much information. You're left wonder what to use, what's truly accurate and what's just a bunch of conjecture on the sites part. When will enough be enough? At what point do we say: "That's it"? At one point in time there was a deficit of information to be found on any particular subject but in today's society there is a surplus of information that just boggles the mind. Like a black hole in space that sucks up all the light; the links found at every turn sucks the mind of coherent thought and leaves a person lost in the dark.

What's in a BLOG?
A blog by any other name would still be a waste of space. Whether writing a blog or reading a blog there are a couple of questions you must ask yourself. Am I learning anything useful or am I being entertained? If you answer no to these then you must admit to yourself that you are wasting your time and the writer is wasting space. If you must have something to read try picking up a book, it could change your life.

Television
At what point should we stop watching television and start getting out of the house? We spend years of our lives watching T.V. and never seem to notice their gone. Although there are some very informative shows out there for consumption it's still television. Instead of watching life go by maybe we as a people should advicate living life. Even though that cooking show is riviting how about you get up and cook what they're showing you. If that's too much just try to get someone in the family do it. Anything is possible if you just put your mind to it. If this is not an incentive enough to get you moving think on this: life is too short to be letting it pass you by and you must set a good example for the generations that will follow you.

Choices completed
Ah, to be free of one only to get trampled by another. Like Clarissa Dalloway, I chose to take this class and advanced comp, now I must live with my decisions. It sucks but hey I can't blame anyone but myself. I'm not saying it wasn't intereasting like the novel was interesting but I can't wait for spring break and a little R & R. Maybe after a week of doing nothing I'll be ready to go when we get back. Who knows, I may have a lousy time on break and can't wait for class to start again. Only time will tell. Have a lovely semester everyone.

Reminisce
Is it truly wrong to think back to times that seem pleasant when the present gets you down? Although Clarissa Dalloway spends quite a bit of time thinking "what if" it only hurts her. As she finds out at the end things may look bad but they can be worse. At the same time it was nice to watch her grow as a person and realize that we can only deal with what life throws at us and work for the future since the past is beyond our ability to change.

How Old is too Old for real Love?
At what age do you stop wanting the love of a good person by your side? Does anyone know of such a thing as too Old to love? If there is a resounding no from the choir, then why do the younger generations always have a problem with their grandparents expressing their affections in public like every other couple? It boggles the mind how double standards still inflict themselves on our society.

Disappointment
When young everyone has great expectations for their lives. Pip's expectations were grand by a few people's thinking. Why is it that the things we think we know we want are not they're cracked up to be? For a while we feel highly disappointed but once we think on the matter we come to realize that what we actually want was ours all along. Life never does turn out the way we think they should but God always knows what's best for us and acts accordingly.

Browning's Duchess
When did we forget to remember our history and try to move on to a better and more productive future? We went from Europe's aristocracy killing and rapping anyone beneath them without consequences to mafias of every ilk and governments starting wars that benfit no one. We yet to evolve beyond they caveman mentality. Browning's poem of the Duchess only goes to show us that things are still on the road to destruction through ignorant and power hungry poeple.

Natural Confusion
At what point do you stop to smell the roses and look up and chack the stars? After completing Frankenstein I have a new and improved understanding of the saying, "there's a fine line between genius and madness". It stands to reason that Victor Frankenstein was mad and should have been committed to some sort of institution. This may have helped him and his familyand stopped the events that led to all their deaths. Who knows, some type of intervention could have been exactly what was needed.

Movie or Book
When if ever can a book and a movie coincide enough to keep the integrity and the author's vision? Scences missing and added all willy-nilly, bad acting and cheesy love scenes make for a bad B-rated movie. Which do you prefer, the written word or the screen play? That is the million dollar question of the week. Can anyone answer that or do you even care?

Frankenstein
Wading through the language of days gone by takes a patience I have yet to master to any degree. At just chapter three I've learned that I need an interpreter for many of the colloquial phrases used. If anyone can give me rundown on what is really meant in the letters at the beginning of the story I would appreciate it.
